The account for 1841 is typical except that three quantities of cloth were purchased – there was usually only one bulk purchase made per year. Each man was given about 3 yards of cloth (some poor souls only received remnants). The charity income varied from £12 4s 7d in 1842 to £20 in 1844 but fell to £3 in 1896 and ceased by 1930.

There is no record of payments to make the cloth into clothes so, presumably, the individuals either made the clothes themselves or paid a local tailor from their own resources.

The attached table is a listing of the men who were given cloth. From an historical point of view it indicates which men the churchwardens thought were in most need at the time.
